"Never waste your time away" was a something my Grandad told me when I was bored with school and just wanted the summer holidays to come. I've never forgotten that and always tried to make the most of every day.
My Grandad was a true craftsman, and a source of inspiration and wonder. He made the most amazing pieces of furniture whilst the best I ever managed was a rickety tea-pot stand. Although I am good with my hands on the keyboard I never could achieve his level of dextrity, my shelves would always fall down. It is sad that the skills of his generation are fading away.
Peter married Doreen in 1946. and they enjoyed fifty years together until she sadly passed away in 2005.. HIs loss was devestating, but he persevered through illness and learned to cook and look after himself. I am so proud of his dedication and spirit.
More than a wonderful, kind and loving member of my family has been lost. He will remain in my thoughts forever as a true Gentleman.
